Erica Kanson is a certified biblical counselor through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), completing her certification in 2025. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Developmental Psychology (2018) and a Master’s degree in Human Services Counseling with a concentration in Addiction and Recovery (2022), both from Liberty University. Erica gained valuable hands-on experience through the training in her master’s counseling program, internships with America’s Keswick and North Care Women’s Clinic, and several months of supervised counseling sessions through ACBC. During this time, she not only developed practical counseling skills but also grew a deep compassion and heart for walking alongside people as they navigate life’s challenges and pursue hope and healing.
In 2025, Erica founded Anchored Life Biblical Counseling to respond to the growing mental health crisis and the increasing need for counseling that is firmly rooted in biblical truth and the sufficiency of Scripture. Her heart is to point others to Christ, who provides lasting hope and true healing. Erica is passionate about walking alongside women with kindness, understanding, and compassion helping them find hope and confidence in God’s unchanging word.
Beyond counseling, Erica enjoys serving in her church, where she helps in the nursery. Over the years, she has faithfully served as a youth leader, teaching about Christ and mentoring middle and high school girls. She is passionate at the opportunity to encourage young women in their faith and walk with them through different seasons of life.
Erica and her husband, Richard, have been married for five years. Together, they are blessed with two wonderful children, whom they strive to raise in the knowledge and hope of Christ Jesus. As a wife, mother, and counselor, Erica’s greatest joy is helping others discover the hope, peace, and freedom found in the gospel and the truth of God’s word.
